The VDS2100 is a professional, manufacturer-level diagnostic platform dedicated to BYD vehicles. Paired with the VDCI 3.0 vehicle communication interface, it provides full-system diagnostics, live data, active tests, advanced service functions, module matching and supported online programming for professional workshops handling BYD electric, plug-in hybrid and petrol vehicles.

Professional Use Notes

• Programming should be carried out only by trained automotive technicians.
• Connect a regulated battery support unit before ECU programming or software updates.
• Do not interrupt vehicle power, tablet power, internet access or the diagnostic connection during programming.
• Certain remote operations may require a compatible C-terminal connection or additional authorization.
• Some security, immobilizer, key and safety-related operations may require vehicle documents, account approval or manufacturer authorization.

A firewall of sorts, the SGW blocks unauthorized access and manipulation of vehicle networks and vital systems. FCA says the SGW was developed not to restrict access to diagnostic data but rather to restrict “the ability of non-registered and non-authenticated users to perform intrusive diagnostics such as bi-directional controls.”  Beyond the prevention of bi-directional capability, which include calibrations, relearns and actuations, even the simple act of clearing a code is denied.
